SIGNAL MEDIA PRESIDENT ANNOUNCES NEW KABZ 103.7 THE BUZZ GENERAL MANAGER

[LITTLE ROCK, AR]: President and CEO of Signal Media of Arkansas, Inc., Steve Jonsson, announced Thursday afternoon that Justin Acri, Program Director of The Buzz and Co-Host of “The Zone”, will replace him as General Manager of 103.7 The Buzz (KABZ-FM) effective Monday, September 10th, 2018.

“Justin has worked for The Buzz in various capacities for 15 years. His passions for sports, broadcasting and The Buzz make him a perfect fit for his new position”, said Jonsson. “Justin has been a major influence on the Buzz since its inception as a Sports and Entertainment station in 2004, and this is the next logical step in the evolution of this great Arkansas radio station.”

Acri started as a part time Morning Show host in 2003 and in 2006 left his job at KATV to work full time as Program Director and on-air personality at Signal Media. Acri took the PD job at a time when The Buzz was finding its way as a new brand of Sports Radio station.

“I am honored to be entrusted with this new responsibility at The Buzz,” Acri said. “I have been fortunate to be surrounded in my time here by dedicated co-workers who help our station have a positive impact on our listeners, clients and community.  I have worked closely with Steve for several years and learned a lot from his leadership over that time.  I am very excited for this new challenge and thankful for the opportunity.”

Jonsson also announced a few other promotions and additions within KABZ. Derrell Young has been promoted to Operations Director from Executive Producer. RJ Hawk, producer of KABZ’s Morning Show “The Show with No Name”, will be taking on more responsibility as Social Media Director. And returning to KABZ, Lindy Lanford will be the Marketing and Events Consultant.  Lanford left the station in January of 2012 to purchase The Bridal Cottage in NLR. She will be consulting the Buzz on a part-time basis, still continuing ownership of The Bridal Cottage.

Signal Media of Arkansas is an independently owned company.  Signal Media consists of three local stations: KABZ-FM 103.7 The Buzz, KKPT-FM The Point 94.1, and KHLR-FM The Ride 106.7.
